How can I stop a refund or a request for a fund transferrd from my bank???

Hi Folks

I sold something on xmas day, yes xmas day.

I was away for the xmas and new year and only came back to day 03/01/11.

When I got back I had an email for the buyer say that he did not read the information and did not want the item, I don't mind and I am happy to give the refund as we all make mistakes, but while I was away my son was looking on ebay and needed some Dr Who cards and found them at a cheap price so I got them for him with out a second thought.

I now don't have enough funds to give the refund, I've transferred some funds from my bank account to my PayPal Account to make up the short fall, and I issued the refund straight away as normal, it is now pending and PayPal is requesting the full amount less the FVF from my bank account how can I stop this.

Can I cancel the refund and weight for the additional fund that I have already sent to go into my PayPal then re issue a refund or can I stop the request for the additional funds being transferred.

Hope you can help.

Best Regards

John

Hi Big-John,

it isn't actually possible to cancel a payment once it is initiated. When you issue a refund you have to have the full amount of money in your PayPal account or else the full amount is requested from your bank, it's different to a normal payment in that way.

What'll happen here is that the two amounts will be requested from your bank, the first will credit to your balance (which you can then withdraw or use to make a payment) and the other will complete the refund.
