I recently purchased an item from a website that proved faulty, I returned it and the man said I would have a refund in a few day, but after many weeks I opened a case with PayPal as it was paid by this means. The person I bought the item off offered me some of my money back but I refused, I then sent proof of purchase to PayPal but today I was surprised to learn that the case was closed. I am really annoyed, can you help. Thanks

Hi Peter53
Did you escalate the dispute or did you just let the dispute run as ppal will close a dispute after 20 days if not escalated?

This is why people need to understand the basics of law. You need to understand that Paypal are not an authority and in order to get your money back now you will have to go through the sellers local trading standards and if need be prepare to issue a CCJ against this person and/or his firm. Sometimes using companies that act as judge and jury irrespective of law is more hassle than it's worth.
