Canceling a pending payment

Hello, So I recently bought something on ebay for £99 and the user who was selling it has contacted me telling me the item is no longer for sale and someone has had unauthorized access to his account and to cancel the payment immediately. However, when I am on paypal (new site or old site) I cannot see anywhere a "Cancel" button or option? I have canceled payments before and I am unsure why this is happening, Can someone shed some light on this?

You can't cancel a payment unless it shows as unclaimed WITH a cancel option;

If it is marked as completed then you need to go and file a dispute for non receipt of item via the "resolve a problem in the resolution centre" link lower left of your paypal summary page.
