when is my refund available to me and in what form

I recently purchased goods from a merchant on ebay and he could not produce the goods so he decided to issue me a refund. I recieved email notification from paypal that a refund had been issued . I paid for the goods in part with my paypal balance and the remainder by my bank account visa debit/credit card. How (in what form) will the refund be issued back to me and how long before the funds are available to me ?

It sounds like the status of your refund is "Pending."  If that's the case, it means the seller had to transfer funds from their bank to cover the refund.  Bank transfers take about three to five business days to show up.

In your case, since the original payment was split between your balance and a card, your refund will be split the same way.

So, if you sent a $100 payment and:
1)  $20 came from the balance

2)  $80 came from a card

When the refund credits, you receive:

1) $20 into your balance

2) $80 back to the card
