Where's my refund?

I received an email from support@paypal saying that the seller refunded my money as he told me he was going to.  However, that was 3 days ago and my paypal balance still show 0 and no transactions since the initial purchase.  I have emailed paypal 3 times, once a day, and here, 3 days later, no reply to any of them.  The money was taken out right away, why am I waiting for it to get put back?????  Do I need to file a dispute with paypal?  Since paypal admits the seller refunded, but I still have not got my money?

Sometimes those emails really arent PayPal, it's a scammer "phishing" your information. Don't panic, this may not be the case.    Check your recent transactions, "latest activity" as soon as you log in, if there is nothing pending or shown, immediately change your username/password.       Also, was you expecting a refund? Was a refund agreed with the buyer?  -  Go to PayPal homepage, click Contact Us > By Phone    -  Call them for Instant Support.

kristinaf3- I have two questions that should help with that.  One, what did you use to fund your payment? And two, what does the original payment status say?

Here's why the answer to those questions help.  Going in reverse order, if the original payment status says "Refunded" then the seller did process a refund (or Pending Refund).  If it just says "Complete" then there's nothing coming back and it could be like lizgrisham said and you would want to give us a call so we can look over your account.  If it does say "Refunded", then the first question comes into play.  If you used a credit card, the refund would be credited directly back to there and your balance wouldn't change.  If you used your bank account, it would be credited back to your PayPal balance, but this could be held up if the payment hadn't cleared from your bank or the seller's bank (if they didn't have a balance sufficient to cover the refund).

If worse comes to worse, just give us a call and we can look over your account and help you out as much as possible.
