WHY DOES PayPal DO THIS?? Complete BS.

Is PayPal is simply **bleep**-bent on taking customers OFF THE PURCHASE PATH to get them to use their stupid service?

Consider:

1) When a customer is looking at their shopping cart they have 2 options: "Checkout" or "Check out with PayPal" - if they choose regular "Checkout" that means they want to NOT USE PayPal right?? YOU WOULD THINK! But the next screen ANYWAY takes them to the 'Log in with PayPal' form, with a link BURIED AT THE BOTTOM for pay with credit card. This is simply idiocy & self-serving BS.

But wait, it gets better!

2) If the customer FIND THAT LINK and AGAIN clicks to pay with credit card, puts in their info and it matches info PayPal has on file, INSTEAD OF JUST PROCESSING THE PAYMENT AND PUTTING MONEY INTO YOUR ACCOUNT, PAYPAL AGAIN KICKS UP A PROMPT SAYING THEY FOUND A MATCH AND THAT YOU SHOULD LOG IN/RECOVER YOUR PASSWORD, ETC., TAKING CUSTOMERS OFF THE CONVERSION PATH AT THE LAST - CRITICAL- MOMENT!!!!

This is an utterly disgusting practice. The UX designer for this should simply be fired.

Businesses be aware - every click a customer has to make, every little decision in the payment process, like LOOKING FOR THE PAYMENT METHOD THEY WANT means a drop-off rate for you, and loss in revenue. PayPal goes OUT OF THEIR WAY to make the process as laborious as possible for your customers.

I hope enough (of the right) people read this and understand the impact this has on completed transactions.

Meanwhile, can anyone recommend an alternative?

Thank you,

Andrey

I couldn't agree more! I have come to hate PayPal and try never to use my PayPal Credit Card. PayPal Credit card is  by  far the worst cedit card I have ever had - and I have had many  credit cards since the late 1950s.
