Is this a scam?

I'm very new to this paypal thing and I need some help. I have posted an ad on craigslist. I have a person interested in buying but they cant meet me in person and they want to get the item for there sister who lives in Spain. The sister in Spain has already sent the money to the sister that cant meet me. I have not received any money from them as of yet. The lady that I've been speaking with wants to send me the money first and pay all shipping cost. Does this sound right or is this a scam? Its seems a little weird to me. Please help.

I have a very similar situation which I am also now questioning. I have gone as far as sending the PP money request, to which I've received a PP response showing that the buyer has included an extra $900, on top of the price of the item, for shipping. It seems that the transaction cannot go any further until I deposit $900 through Western Union. Thoughts?

I seem to be in this same boat.  I have posted a watch on Craig's list and was contacted almost immediately upon posting.  The buyer would like for me to use pay pal to receive payment and has added an additional amount to cover the shipping.  He asks that it be shipped via the Postal Service and that I not include the value of the item inside of the box due to the fact that if I did that the person he is sending it to would have to pay additional charges when they received it.  He has not given me information as to where he wants it shipped but from the information that I have received, I believe he is not from the US but elsewhere.  The poor English in the email leads me to believe that this is a second language for him.  I have contacted paypal asking how I am to protect myself.  The man (with broken English) told me that I should follow the "buyers agreement" and that I would be fine.  He says I have to "verify" the shipping address but has no idea how to do this other than on ebay.  Does anyone know how to do this on Craig's List?  I have sold things previously on Craig's List but i have always met the seller and was paid cash.  I have used Paypal but never to receive a payment, only to purchase something. I am seeing info that they will hold your payments, etc.  Do you ship prior to a release of this payment?  The buyer isn't going to want to wait on his product if it has been paid.  I am just a little leery of this whole deal.  What was your final experience with it?

Well I was reading about scams online and I found out a ton! Well I knew everything that the scammer was going to say to me before "they" said it. They wanted my paypal address so that they could send money which I gave them. Then they sent me a fake email from "paypal uk" stating that money has been deposited and would be released once I ship the items. This all seemed a little fishy beause I know paypal doesn't hold money so once I got the email from "paypal uk" I emailed the scammer and gave them a few choice words and they tried to assure me that this was legit but I knew otherwise. So basically that said they were going to report me because I have there money but no money was ever put into my account. Plus they wanted me to ship it to nigeria! It was all a big scam.

sadly, i have also had the same problem . i posted an ad on craigslist about my iphone 4 . i listed it for $450 and this lady said she would pay me $500, plus $100 for shipping . i got an email from "paypal" saying i would recieve the money once i shipped the item, but i thought it was weird that the money didnt even show up in my account .. not even as pending . plus the lady wanted me to ship it to nigeria and to ship it RIGHT AWAY, EARLY the next morning and because i didnt she got very angry . im very glad i did my research . its sad to think theres people out there that do this .

I have had something similar and was looking for advice. I had an item listed on eBay and was "purchased" rather quickly. The buyer says they have transferred the funds, but nothing is showing up in my account. They say that when I provide PayPal with a tracking number that my funds will be released.

I'm assuming those of us that have posted here have stopped those transactions before they got too far along?
