Hyperlink in MS Word to Payment Page

I am trying to help a non-profit group insert rt a hyperlink to the PayPal payment page they've set up into their Microsoft Word event document.  I know how to link Word to existing web pages, but when I do that by linking to the URL for the group's PayPal payment page, I get a PayPal page that says, "Sorry--Your last action could not be completed."

Any clues about how to just put a hyperlink into a Word doc to our group's specific payment page in PayPal would be greatly appreciated.  All I can find is info on how to create payment buttons, but nothing on creating a simple URL for hyperlinking.  I have about ten lines of HTML code for the page from PayPal, but I don't know how to work with HTML.

I have to say ... you are correct.  No input on a simple hyperlink.  I have spent way too many hours trying to figure this out.  And paypal has no advice anywhere.  If you figured it out, please share.  If i figure it out anytime soon , I will share as well.
