REST API Pay By PayPal flow

I am integrating the REST API using HttpClient in Java.

I have authenticated and received a token.

I then create a Payment by PayPal and get the Payment ID.

What is the next logical step and the endpoint URL that I would call.

I looked at execute payment and that requires a "payer_id" which I don't receive back from the create payment call.

Would I call a URL in authorize or confirm?

Any insight is appreciated.
