How do I get the necessaryAPI Code to activate paypal on my website?

Have been trying to get an API code so as to set up Paypal on my website. Getting nowhere.Confusing. Help?

For US PayPal Business Accounts:

Login to your account.

Click on "Tools"

You should the see "API Credentials" option near the bottom.
