PayPal Business Debit card keeps getting declined

My business debit card keeps being declined when I try to use it. Sometimes small amounts go through but nothing over $20. I never had a problem before until December. i have called them over and over and they give me the run around with my bank account is too new on their system. anyone else having similar issues?

Do you not keep a PayPal balance large enough to cover your purchases and then some when using the card? So that your back up payment is charged and then deposit funds into your bank once you make a purchase and have your back up payment method on the Business debit card charged? That may make your card decline sometimes. PayPal system is mitigating risk. 

 

In my experience, it's best to keep a running balance that's decent, like say a few "hundos" and use the debit card consistently being watchful of the amount, not go past it. And really watch your high value purchases. Don't be erratic with it or blow up your account, hehe. Software run these day so use patterns and algorithms are king. I don't know about your account behavior to speculate on how to fix it since its all software. PayPal said your bank account is too new? Is your PayPal account new?

I work for my dad so this is how he sends my paychecks to me and it is not that much a week but I try to keep some in there. but lately I can't because I can't pay some of my bills with paypal. I switched my backup account to my other bank account in December and they said I needed to established a good history with that account with them which I been transfering $5 or $10 a week but still being declined. I guess I just keep my paycheck in there I don't know. I switched to a business account last May.

Oh, I see. You linked that bank account to the debit card as back up, eh? Yeah, when you establish the new bank account more, like transfer from balance to bank kinda regularly and also have enough to cover debit card use and log in to your PayPal to keep an eye on balance and stuff. It should get better. It's odd but good luck. 🙂
