Using PayPal Debit Card For Amazon/Pay In 4

I have a PayPal debit card ($0 balance) as a payment option on my Amazon account. I want to use the Pay In 4 option for my purchase. If I choose the debit card and the purchase amount qualifies for Pay In 4, will I be given that option? In other words, can an Amazon payment using the debit card be linked to a Pay In 4 payment option?

This would be an amazing option to have. I don't think PayPal currently supports it, but their Pay-In-4 is a whole lot better than other companies. Especially Affirm, Amazon's preferred increment vendor. Affirm requires credit approval based on the old FICO system whereas PayPal doesn't. It's definitely more ideal...

I understand you'd like to use Pay in 4 with your PayPal Debit Card, @Bamatami. @Trevanoc was right when they mentioned it is not an option. The PayPal Debit Card can only be used with your PayPal balance. Since you've been approved for Pay in 4, you might be able to request a Single-Use card through the Pay Later tile in the PayPal App. You can learn more about the Single-Use Card on our Help Center here: Questions about the Single-Use Card.

I like how you said "might be able to request a single-use card" as if you weren't sure about it. Well I went there, to the Pay Later tile in the PayPal app, and I don't see any way that this can be done. And yes, I am already pre-approved and have used this Pay-in-4 method several times recently. But the particular website I'm trying to use it for this time doesn't have PayPal listed as a payment option in their checkout, so now I'm trying to do it manually.

i’m in the exact same situation, and just now tried this on amazon. interestingly, so far it seems to have worked - the order was submitted successfully and i got an order confirmation from amazon (i used the pay pal debit card number and the card shows $0 balance but i’m prequalified for $1500 in pay in 4 and am currently making payments on one earlier purchase.) there’s no updates at all in the pay pal app. i’m curious if this will actually work and i can pay the new card balance as pay in 4 or if the order will get cancelled somehow. stay tuned…

Any updates on your purchase? I’d like to do the same thing. Have been pre-approved for years w/PP pay in 4 and used it often. It’s just ridiculous that Amazon doesn’t directly have PP as a payment option.
