Have been using PayPal Credit for 3 yrs now and have had a pretty good run at it. Problem is they seem to tweak their system to squeeze any bit of interest out of you for no substantial reason. I go above/beyond to pay in full/on time every single month and go through the trouble of doing live chat to hopefully ensure my payment will be allocated as I'd like. For example, I've bought several items under the 24 month ebay easy pay plan, which indicates when I submit a payment ONE monthly preset payment should be put toward that purchase and the remaining balance should be applied toward the next inline special 6 month no interest purchase. A few times they've applied TWO payments toward the supposed ONE month easy pay plan and that causes more of a balance being due for the next special purchase, which throws my budgeting out the window.
Also, recently I requested for ONE easy plan payment to be made and the remainder to be put on the next special purchase that is expiring in Sept. They actually put the remaining payment toward a purchase that isn't even due until Jan 2024 and now the full amount of what's due in Sept is about $150 higher than I anticipated. They keep giving me the run around with live chat as if it's been corrected, yet for weeks I've seen no change in my account. Think I'm no longer going to use my PayPal account for any purchases, pay it off and close it out. Will also encourage many family/friends that use PayPal often to close out as well. I get that they need to get their financial cut, but I play by their rules by always paying in full/on time every month and have given them interest knowingly on the 24 month plans, but for the 6 month/$99+ purchases they will indeed try to tweak things to tack that deferred interest on any way they can. Done with this garbage!
