Why do some websites only allow credit card payment when using PayPal?

I've come across a few websites that don't allow me to choose my bank account. They force me to choose credit card. Even if I select "change" payment, it only shows credit cards. It's a fairly rare occurrence but still strange to me.

Bank transfers can fail, card payments are pretty much guaranteed.

@kernowlass Fair enough, annoying as that may be. Fortunately, there aren't too many websites who have this issue. Ironically, it only happens on some platforms. For instance, I can use my bank account if I use the service from a desktop website version of the site. However, if I use their app, it only accepts credit card (via PayPal). Seems to be a bit of a programming bug or lapse in ensuring the same experience across various platforms of the same service.
