Unable to receive payment

Hello,

I have started with PayPal recently and am trying to receive a payment from our client who has no PayPal account. 

The client received the payment request through his mail and logged into PayPal as a guest. On entering the card details, however, he got this message displayed:

"The card you entered cannot be used for this payment. Please enter a different debit or credit card number."

 

The same message was displayed while trying with another card as well.

Any resolution here will be greatly appreciated.
