Transferring funds and getting error message

I get the following message when trying to send money to a friend.

This recipient accepts PayPal payments only through their website. To complete this payment, please go to their website or email them for instructions. If you continue to encounter problems, please contact us.

 

I have tried having the recipient send me a link to make payment and I get same message. recipient has updated personal information and same result. What else to do? I did a search but I'm not very familiar with paypal and didn't find anything that helped.

In general, when this error message is displayed it means that the recipient cannot receive payments, at the moment. This can happen for multiple reasons such as, for example, Country-restrictions, for security reasons or due to a limitation on the account. In this last case, you should be able to see some steps in the Resolution Centre to complete to resolve the matter.
