I have someone wanting to pay me with PayPal for a car that I am selling... is this a good idea ?

NO, firstly it may be the Paypal 'car scam' at work (especially if they say they will arrange to have it shipped) and secondly there is NO Paypal seller protection for motor vehicles.
Cash on collection is the way to go.
Advice is voluntary.
