Problems with purchases using PayPal account

The last 2 times I have purchased things using my PayPal account, they take the money from my bank account which is linked to my account rather than my PayPal account.  Im upset about this and I cannot reach a representative within PayPal to help me.

1.

Make sure the funds in your balance are cleared and not pending.

2.

Make sure the funds are in the correct currency as paypal only converts funds from a bank account or card.

3.

Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > second down click on update next to your preferred way to pay and put a dot in the balance option.
