Payment came from my bank account, not my PayPal account. What gives?

I made a payment to someone from my PayPal account, and the payment came out of my bank account even though there are plenty of funds in my PayPal account to make that payment. Why did that happen? Shouldn't payments from my PayPal account be taken out of my PayPal account? Is there something I have to change so payments to people inside of my company don't come out of my personal bank account?

Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > second down click on update next to your preferred way to pay and put a dot in one of the options listed.
