I was trying to pay for my order on ASOS but they couldn't process the order so they asked me to order again. On the second attempt, my order was successful. However, when I came back to check my paypal summary, I had a payment pending even though the first order didn't go through and a payment that was complete from the second time. What exactly happens to the amount of money pending since there was no order?

When you pay a company (rather than an ebay seller or individual), then it is often pending until that company processes your order and captures the pending payment.
If they don't process that order and capture the pending payment then the pending status times out at 30 days post-payment.

Kudos / Solution appreciated.
