Hi,

I made a paypal account using my Indian bank account to receive money from a family member in the US but I am unable to do so. Please advise.

You can't receive friends/family payments in your country, only payments sent using the goods/services option.

To receive Paypal payments in your country + to be able to receive payments in your local currency read the below link.
