How do I cancel my payment/ get it back after sending it under Family and Friends?

I was about to send a big amount of money to someone for a fund, but PayPal didn’t let me send it at the time. So, I sent it to my daughter’s account which she has not begun the process of confirming identity on. I initially thought that my account was having problems and couldn’t send money to someone I’ve never sent money to, so I sent it to her account in hopes that her paypal would be able to send the funds instead. But, she doesn’t have her passport in order to take a picture of it to confirm her identity, so now she can’t even accept the money I sent her through family and friends. I heard that if the payment is unclaimed or not accepted, it gets sent back to my account in 30 days. Is there a way to get it back earlier?

If its pending unclaimed WITH a cancel option then yes as you can cancel it but

this is unlikely as the email address was ok so if pending unclaimed withOUT a cancel option it will time out 30 days post payment.

Under what circumstances does it have the cancel option? And how do I know if it’s pending unclaimed?

Normally there is a cancel option if the email address you sent it to was non-existant ie a typo or spelling error.

Other than that if the email address exists but not yet linked or verified to a paypal account then it would stay pending without a cancel option for 30 days to allow the receiver to verify or claim the funds.

You would see pending / unclaimed / completed etc etc etc next to the transaction in your paypal account.
