HELP! Accidentally Sent the Wrong Amount $30,000 Instead of $300.00

Hello,

As you can see in the title I just made a huge blunder!

I sent $30,000.00 instead of $300.00 to Freelancer for design work.

It's a business account belonging to my employer. The account had a $29,000 balance in it, the remainder was withdrawn from the company credit card.

It was 12 (midnight) EST when I did the transfer. We're based in Canada.

The first thing I did is created a dispute on the transaction. I was panicking so much that I didn't know what category to choose, so I chose "Unauthorized Transaction", and I ended up resetting the account password. Then I called PayPal but they're not answering. They say I must wait for their business hours. That's 8.5 Hours from now. Very long time to wait!

I emailed the Freelancer explaining the situation and I asked to cooperate with the dispute so we can get the money returned. He's probably asleep now, so he hasn't replied. He's worked with me several times on and off over the past year. I've paid him over $3500, for his past work. $30,000 may be a huge sum of money for him.

I will call the bank in the morning to prevent the $1000 from being withdrawn. Hopefully, that will help cancel the entire transaction.

I'm nervous right now, and I'm not sure what's the best course of action. Is there no Emergency Helpline or 24/7 support or fraud department that could help. Please advise!

Thanks,

Alaa
