Has anyone else run into this? I've lost $55 sending payments to friends in the last few months, one of them finally let me know that PayPal was taking out a fee for "goods and services", when my intent was to send as 'Friends and Family'.
See below. I also have video of this in case you doubt the issue. On the landing page for payment, it clearly says "Sending to Friends and Family". This is when I usually send it. I ran a test and clicked on the link, only to see that it is actually defaulted to "Goods and Services". When you get your receipt, there is no way to know this. It shows I paid the full amount entered - the PayPal fee only comes out on the receivers end, you have now way to know unless they tell you.
I wonder how many millions in fees PayPal has collected this way, through a simple misrepresentation of the default settings on the landing page!!!
