How do I delete/cancel a direct debit?

You cancel it on your online banking under the direct debit marked PAYPAL.

If you cancel it then you can no longer use your bank account as a funding source to pay sellers via paypal.

I just want to cancel it on Paypal - I have informed the supplier.

Are you talking about a subscription / pending payment / refund / pending awaiting authorisation ???

It is a once a year debit, that I don't need anymore.

I don't owe them anything as the debit has been paid for the next 12 months.

They may refund it but either way I won't be dealing with them again.

I just want to cancel it so it does not get 'used' again.

Check if you had a subscription set up...
Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > "manage pre-approved payments''.
