Confusing at times. Activity Refunds, Payment, Purchases WTH?

Not that the numbers are not squaring, but
Why are Refunds on my activity posted with a (+) and green, while a payment to the account posts has a (-) and No different visually than a purchase. Should this activity visually appear as if it was a refund? Confusing at times. Funds accounting?

Anything that goes out of your account is a (-), a deduction. Anything that comes into your account, is a (+), an addition.
What do you mean exactly by “while a payment to the account”? Which account?
If you pay out to someone or entity, it gets a (-). Accepted payments or refunds get a (+). That is the visual difference.
