Sold an item on Ebay for $18 but only got 17.14 from Paypal, why?

Your paypal fee is deducted immediately from your buyers payment before the rest is credited to your paypal balance.
This is unlike ebay that send you an invoice with their fees on a monthly basis.
It happens. Hit the "Login to Ask the community" button to create a question for the PayPal community.
