All payments received from wife's paypal account pending

I have three payments pending from my wife. Everytime she tries to send one it's pending. But yet, when I send one for her it never pends

How does she 'fund' the payment?

If its from a bank account withOUT a back up card then it may be going as an echeque and so pend until cleared.

OR could be she is using the goods/services and not family/friends option IF that is available in your country.
