Paypal express not opening until customer inputs their details on our website

we are using payments pro for magento 2.3.2 and latest mageplaza onepage checkout

basically we expect customer to go straight to paypal once the button is pressed

.what happens: customer is sent back to the cart in order to fill address etc before being able to go to express checkout . I don't think this is how it should work?
