$1 Authorizations for Credit Card verification.

It is industry practice to do $1 authorization charges to a CC to verify it's validity.  If there is a backup payment method attached to the PayPal debit card it would stand to reason that a $1 authorization charge should ALWAYS be accepted, even if the balance at paypal is $0. (Provided a backup payment method is present).  I recently had quite an long ordeal with a vendor because they couldn't verify my card.  They didn't actually want to charge the card, just verify it's validity, and as a result I had to wait several days to transfers funds in for a simple verification.  PayPal should consider allowing $1 authorization charges since it is an industry practice of credit card verification.  Not too happy with all the hassle I had over a single $1, not to mention a week's delay as a result.  PayPal, let's think a little bit about customer service.  What is that backup payment method there for if the card is always gonna be declined?

I agree with you.  What's the point having a back up fund if it is going to be declined.  I've experience this several times lately and I am very disappointed.  I use my back up funding over transferring funds from my bank account because it takes 3 to 5 days to clear and available for use if I transfer fund.
