Any idea what is going on here?
I have been looking at my options to overpay on my Paypal Credit as i have both a 24installment item and 3 other smaller interest free credit items (not on installment plan) and frankly you have no tools or control to assign to assign overpayments how you want.
So although i have my direct debit set up (for £167, which appear to all go to the installment plan) i paid £177 manually on 27/12 (way ahead of the 16/01 DD date) to try and see what happened to the extra £10. Turns out it just went against the installment item and did nothing to reduce the minimum payments. Seems...odd, but fair enough, probably just means i need to keep an eye on DDs coming out once i pay it off before 24 months. Personally i was hoping to kill off the interest free items before they started accruing but - oh well!
However my DD then still came out on 16/01! So a double payment that cycle. I had considered that possibility but in the paypal credit account summary box you get i had checked and after i made my manual payment the amount shown there for Minimum Payment reduced to £0. That would logically mean that no DD should have come out right (its a DD, not a Standing Order) ? It was literally telling me that one wouldn't.
