A quick question to try and understand fees for donation. I'm in Australia, and I'd like to make regular, small donations to an organisation in the USA who has a registered "Donate" capability on their site.
I'm curious on what the charge for me as a donator would be. The current Paypal Australia site on fees (https://www.paypal.com/au/webapps/mpp/paypal-fees) mentions overseas purchases, and the new higher costs to transfer money to friends and family overseas, but doesn't specifically mention donations.
Is a qualified donation to Paypal regarded as "Buying" or sending to "Friends and Family" by Paypal? In other words, will I be charged 3.5% above the current exchange rate for my donation, or will I be charged $5.99 plus 2.6% plus a fixed charge based on currency?
