Message sent to PP Message Center has vanished

I received an email from PayPal on July 16, one week ago today, saying I had a message in the Message Center.  I badly need to access that message. However when I click the link to the message in the email it just takes me to our regular account page, not the message or the Message Center.  I have tried following the information in the email appended below, however the only thing there when I click the notifications icon is a message saying I have no notifications;  no massage and no link to an inbox.

Here's how to find your Message Center inbox on the PayPal website

1. Log in to your PayPal account.
2. Click the Notifications icon near the top of the page.
3. Click Inbox.
4. Click View Messages.
5. Click the message to view it.

Messages in the Message Center are available for 90 days from the day originally sent.
