Problems with communication with so-called Paypal "Help Line"

Much appreciate any suggestions regarding an issue I am having with Paypal.  I have tried again and again to get some sensible replies from their automated and supposed 'live' Help sections but just end up going round in circles!  The issue is simple - or should be - I moved house and changed Email addresses.  I can now Log In with the new address but there  is no way (believe I have tried!) to 'cancel' the old Email address as a Primary to stop them sending messages/notifications  to that address which is about to be closed!!/

I get friendly replies from Paypal, but NOTHING actually changes  has anyone else run into this please? I cannot get to actually talk to anyone either.

Cheers, Richard

Go and click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > click on the + and add another/new email address first > verify it > go back and click on update and tick the box underneath that says 'make primary' > then you should get the remove option by the old now no longer primary email. You can remove that one or leave it on as you can have up to 8 email addresses on the one paypal account.

Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Many thanks, I will try that! I have found that Paypal's 'help' system is hugely problematic - lots of friendly but different people each time, most them not READING the actual question, just pushing out basic advice showing that they simply don't understand the situation!

Hope this will sort the issue,  Thanks, Richard
