Money before postage

I sold an item on gumtree and the buyer is using PayPal. They have said I can post the item before receiving the money. Can I do this or will I fall victim to not getting money again and customer getting free item?!

Why would you send something before being paid !!!

Never send anything until the funds are SHOWING in your paypal balance / activity.

Do not rely on emails saying post first and supply tracking, if funds not SHOWING in your balance then they may well be fake paypal emails.
