I sent my friend $1,000 and he only got $944 ?

I sent my friend $1,000 and he only got $944. is possible to return back like refund the 1,000. I didn't know PayPal charges I used it before never charged me. Any idea ?

Its down to how the payment was SENT from your account.

1. If you sent using money > goods / services option then paypal would see them as a seller and charge a fee.

2. If you had sent using the send money > family / friends option then they would have had the payment with no fee. (However that option is not available in your country, as far as I am aware).

Sadly if they issued a refund the fee that they paid would not be returned as part of that refund.
