I've found something on gumtree just wondering can I send £150 over PayPal safely to her and if anything goes wrong I could get my money back? If so how do I do this

To answer that i would have to type the complete policy of paypals buyer protection policy on here.

So your best bet is to go and read it in paypals user agreement so you can risk assess your own transactions.
