Email re missing account information

Hello. We've had an email this morning asking us to add missing information to our account by mid-July or risk not being able to accept payments. I'm always super suspicious about this sort of thing so am treating it as a (potential) scam, but also separately going into our PP account and looking for the notification referred to.

I can't see any notifications in our account asking us to add any information. Our Accounts Limitation page isn't flashing up as needing added to, and generally it all looks pretty much as it should. This is our main platform for accepting payments though, so I'm a bit worried that I'm missing something. Has anyone else had this email, and if it's genuine, what am I looking for in our account details to update?

I should say that bar the occasional refund to a customer, our account hasn't had any disputes or problems, but is a bit healthier than it's been in a while as sales have been particularly good lately. Would that be enough to trigger an account review?

Thank you.

Exactly the same problem as you.  The email looks genuine, It may be to do with FATCA, but can see nothing in the notifications.

If its a spoof then NEVER USE ANY LINK.

Firstly if the email/text addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.

Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email/text to ''cancel'' any transaction or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.

If there was a problem with your account Paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email or by downloading an attachment, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.
