What a complete nightmare today has been thanks to paypal .

firstly I use my access card in the post office this morning to send my eBay orders, only to then find that paypal have taken the payment 15 times, which has cleared my paypal account and put me overdrawn with my bank. This I only find out after filling my car up at the petrol station and having my card refused very embarrassing, and had to leave my mobile phone with the garage or they were going to call Police... it's now been almost 10 hours and I'm still out of pocket, my mortgage is due to come out tomorrow and there isn't enough in there now to cover it, Paypal are regulated by the FSA so if my mortgage bounces tomorrow I will be making an official complaint , As this could affect my credit rating. I don't know about you but Paypal are a complete joke,it takes almost forever to speak to them directly and even then there is no customer service, they obviously work from a script ... If paypal are reading this I will be submitting an invoice for all costs incurred including my time spent trying to resolve this.

Paypal have now reversed the 27 repeated payments taken out of my account and refunded the £152.55. A lot of ball ache over the past 24 hours for 2 pints of milk, a box of cat food, botttle of squash and some shredded wheat!!

I made one call to the the number on the back of the paypal card, they did pass the buck and say it was a paypal issue, check this morning when i got up at 5:40am (GMT) money wasn't refunded but when i checked at 7:20am it had been . Had sent an email though, luckily enough I did have enough funds to cover the £154 that was taken out, my heart goes out to you guys that they started taking money from your bank account and in cases push folks into overdraft that is LOW!! I was very close to cancelling my bank card before the repeated payments stopped.

The money might have been returned, but that was a very worrying 24 hours with not a word from Paypal or Ebay which I think is the worst. No explanation and no apology. We were the ones ringing the exhorbitantly priced telephone number. I am disgusted at the whole matter to be honest and am not satisfied with this at all!

I dont know where to start.

This is a joke !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I`m was down £500 (all money) in my paypal acc yesterday, now they refunded my paypal acc and about £350 is gone from my Lloyds bank acc. What the hell is going on ???

After all the talk on the radio how safe and easy it is to use lots of people dont have a penny in the wallet, this is totally unacceptable.

I got through to customer service believe it or not but they cant help, and all they can do is "call you back within 48h"

I`m making official complain and just looked at WATCHDOG website to do the same.

Can anyone who have spere minute do the same.

PAYPAL PEOPLE - WE ARE ALL VERY DISAPOINTED

at least send us emial

I have had £10 taken out of my account 15 times, as I only had £4 in my paypal account Paypal have taken from my bank account £150 is now back in my Paypal account, but my Paypal access card is now blocked. I have asked Payal to return the money to my bank account by 5pm this evening but they state it will take 72 hours to do or I can transfer the money this will also take 3 - 4 working days. It seems a unfair to me that Paypal is the one with the issues and we are having to sort the problems out

I agree HCW101, with the card now on block and transfers taking forever, what the hell is the point of refunds we can't get our hands on. It all seems very unfair that we are the ones having been inconvenienced by their **bleep** up and yet they seem to want us to do all the running around to put it right! What a shambles! I think I might only use Paypal as I did before. Sell items on Ebay, transfer the money straight away into my bank account. Although with Ebay's fees these days, that's not worth it either - might consider shutting my account down with Ebay and Paypal!

I guess there are a lot of people experiencing this problem. I have been charged at least 15 times for the same item as well... This cleared my PayPal balance completely and started taking money from my bank account. However, I can't see that there was any money taken direct from my bank account as the bank statements are late sometimes.

I rang PayPal and have been asured that they are aware of this and working on this already. They promissed to send me an email as soon as the issue will be sorted out.
