Lost all login information on an old account- any way to access it ?

Two years ago I opened a PayPal account with a different email address in order to sandbox a shopping cart system for a client. The problem is that I have now lost the password, I've changed banks so the credit card associated with the account no longer exists, and I apparently don't remember any of my "teachers names" for the security question. All I have is the (still valid) email address.

Is there any other possible way for me to access the account or is it just a writeoff ? And if I can't use it, how do I remove the email address from Paypal so that I can open a new account ?

Call PayPal... they should be able to help you to recover your password or have the old account closed.  Since you can't login to your PayPal account, use the following PayPal Customer Service phone numbers...

1 - 888 - 221 - 1161 (Toll Free for Premier and Business Accounts)

well, thanks for the numbers but I must say that was just about the worst "customer service" experience I've ever had. First she couldn't get my email address after I spelled it out 4 times, then she said I had "too many accounts" (I have 3, one of which I was trying to close) , then she basically accused me of fraud because I can't remember the debit card number for a bank account I closed 2 years ago. She got a bit condescending somewhere in the mix.

I've been using PP more than 10 years, I've never been through anything like that before. Where are you people farming your calls out to ?
