Has anybody else been having trouble in the last few days logging in? Sometimes it works, sometimes it redirects to a screen that says sorry your action couldn't be completed, and sometimes I get a red error box saying I must enter both my user name and password (which I have already done). Of course to get help or contact paypal you have to log in. Strange I was able to use my log-in to get to Water Cooler today but I've tried five times in a row to get in to my account and can't. Anybody got any ideas?

In your particular scenario, this isn't a technical error - it sounds as if you have had someone other than yourself access your account and change the password. I would recommend resetting the password via the "Problems logging in?" link. If you still can't get in, this is something the forums can't resolve (it's account specific), and so you'll want to call - go to www.paypal.com/contactus and go through the options to request help via phone.

Don't know if this will help anyone but thought I'd post my solution anyhow. 🙂
I've had the same issue for two days.
After struggling to get an actual phone number to call, I was able to determine that my particular problem was being caused because my security key had somehow been de-activated. I have one of the very first types of security keys and although it still appeared to be working for me - it somehow was not.
Ordered a new one, and until it arrives I was told to just use my password without the additional numbers that the key gives me. Problem solved. I'm a little nervous about not having that extra security but guess I'll have to live with it.

I have been having trouble logging in all day. My issue seems to be a little different though.
Earlier today, after I entered my username password and security key, I would get the "Logging in Securely" page, but that was as far as I would get. It would sit there until it timed out.
When using my iPad, Safari would say the server stopped responding, on my PC, same thing with IE, Chrome and Firefox, it would eventually just time out. Chrome would actually get to an error page "500 Internal Server Error"
I have tried from home, from work and on my iPad with AT&T 3G and the same results everytime.
While I was on the call, they disabled my security key to rule that out, but now my account isn't secured by my security key because they couldn't reactivate it, said only I could after logging in to my account, which I can't do.
Very frustrating.
UPDATE.
Ok, after modifying the URL that is trying to load when you are on the "Logging you in Securely" page:
removed "&login_cmd=_login-done&login_access=xxxxxxxxxx" from the URL, leaving just:
https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_login-processing
This got me to a page that says "Sorry — your last action could not be completed"
From there, I was able to get into my profile and re-activate my Security Key. I can access most of the links, except for Overview. Trying to access Overview I get the same behavior. It just sits there until the browser times out and quits waiting for a server response.
PayPal, please fix your servers.

Yes, I also had problems signing-in. I was using "private browsing" in Internet Explorer and had to reset my password 3 times within the past 2 days because I kept getting "invalid password". I just placed PayPal on the Trusted Websites list as was suggested and successfully logged into this forum. I have not tried to access my account yet but I am hopeful.
If I cannot log into my PayPal account again, I will then return my IE security settings to default. If I continue to have issues, I will return here for more suggestions.

I tried to log in using my business computer at my home. It continued to tell me my email or password was incorrect. I finally reset a new password and tried again. Same message. Then I tried logging in on my 2nd computer and it went right in.
I use paypal during the day for billing and I cannot access it from my business computer. Any suggestions?
