I added a bank account and a credit card to my paypal. Whenever I try to make a purchase, it defaults to the back account. How can I change it to use my credit card instead?

Yes, you need a bank account to "Track Spending". I use a Prepaid CC. I don't want any other info present. Sure paypal hasn't been hacked ever, but neither had Sony with all their customers info. It's great to say we have never been hacked yet, but it certainly isn't impossible. Paypal needs to adapt or users can simply pick other online services that will accommodate.
Also the spell checker doesn't include "paypal".

Everyone,
The PayPal blog has posted an article regarding recent news you may have heard, regarding a group of hackers, who claim to have released PayPal account information to the public. To be clear, the PayPal site has not been breached or hacked in any way.
For the full story, please visit the PayPal Blog.
Thanks!
Adrian

Is that the point of this disscussion? The fact that Paypal has not officailly been hacked or the fact that if it was it wouldn't be officially released. That is not the discussion. The discussion is security at our end. That information I posted, is it a concern for paypal people? You bet it is. Is paypal going to offer a service that is obviously in demand buy allowing registered financial accounts like credit cards to be the sole option on their paypal account? This is the disscussion and it was also the disscution on the feedback form/survey I sent in today.
Would you agree that a way to hack in to paypal has been discoverd by these individuals? Not a direct hack into paypal but the method listed above would be a security threat to paypal customers and by allowing those to use CC's on the accounts would serve the user and satisfy those who are concered and would like the service?
This is the disscution and ignoring it by hiding behind a "It wasn't us" stance is ignoring the real issue.
Cheers,
PS

Adrian:
You haven't answered the original question. "How can I set my credit card to be the default payment method?"
Instead you offered an alternative.
If the actual answer is "you can't", then the obvious next question is "why not!!"
Your silence on the direct issue is disconcerting.

Well, here is the reason and the only reason they will not let you set the default to credit card.
When you use the credit card, Mastercard or Visa will charge paypal around 3%. Paypal in turns charges who ever receives the cash even more to recover their fees and make money.
When you use your bank account, the fees to paypal are minimal. The person receiving the cash still gets charged the same fees, therefore almost doubling the amount of profit onj the transaction.
To add insult to injury, if you are not from the US, when you use the bank account it uses Paypal's conversion rate which is aqbout 4+% above market rate, (about 2% more than your credit card conversion) increasing the ripoff even more.
that is why they won't allow you to default to credit carm all the way.
And when you go to remove your bank account, then they threaten to remove your verified status (although you are still the same person) to scare you from removing it.
