Issues connecting Co Operative bank debit card to paypal

Co operative have sent me a new card as my old one expired. My old card wasn’t accepted by PayPal so I was hoping my new one would be... but no! It comes up saying it’s doesn’t recognise the card number. The card number hasn’t changed with the replacement, only the valid from, expiry date and security code has changed. Does anyone else have an issue with co operative bank cards or is it just my card number!? I only have one bank and no credit cards (anymore) so I’m desperate to link my card so I can carry on using PayPal
