Unlink Card From Another Account

It says my card is already linked to a paypal account.... this is the first paypal account I've ever attempted making, so I don't see how that is possible.. I need to have my card unlinked from another account! Obviously I can prove that this is indeed my card. I have no idea how it would be previously linked. Please help!

Click on the words "Help / Contact" at the bottom of paypals pages and use the phone option in the blue band at the top OR very bottom of page dependent on what country you are in. Scroll down past the list of help questions and click on 'Call us' bottom of that page. Log in and get the code.

When you get through don't select any options just hang on till you get transfered to an agent OR press '0' OR just say the word 'Agent' repeatedly.

I had the same problem. I called customer support as @kernowlass instructed and made some progress, but there was nothing they could do. They claim that my credit card number may be a recycled number and it is already linked to a closed paypal account. Their instructions were for me to get with my credit card company and get a new credit card number. I have no problems using this card with any other merchant. It seems that it's easier for paypal to pass their problems off to the credit card companies rather than purge old credit card numbers tied to closed accounts from their system.

I'm also had the same but cannot changed its a PayPal bug so I got a new card from bank
