My Paypal account is linked only to a credit card. This works fine for buying things online. But now I want to use the "send money" option...how would the credit card fee get paid in that scenario? Or will the system prevent me from completing the transaction until I link a bank account?

Sending money is no difference than paying for an item.
Or do you mean you want to use the friends/family option to send money?

@kernowlassI'll be paying a furniture moving company. So I don't think I'll be logging into their website and clicking pay; i think they'll be sending me an invoice by email and then I'll be "sending money" to them. Not exactly sure how it will work. How would Paypal distinguish between me sending money to a company vs to "friends/family"?

Then it won't be a friends/family payment but a goods/services payment as money requests / invoices are goods/services payments.
You just click on it and pay exactly the same as you click on a website and pay.
