Paypal help is automated and does not help

I am trying to issue a refund. Simple, right? Wrong. I have followed the instructions maybe half a dozen times now. I keep getting the message:

'We can't process any refund right now due to technical reasons. Please try again later.' You might say,  why not wait?...I have , for two days.

What is more irksome is that any reference to this error message in a help request,  elicits the same automated reply;  i.e a restating of the instructions.

Paypal is 'country specific' so advice often depends on what country you are in. As you have not added your country to your community profile or said in your post then we can't help at the moment.

Sounds like yet another famous Paypal 'glitch', your best bet is to give c.s. a call and ask them to issue the refund on your behalf?

Click on the words "Help / Contact" at the bottom of paypals pages and use the phone option in the blue band at the top OR very bottom of page dependent on what country you are in. Scroll down past the list of help questions and click on 'Call us' bottom of that page. Log in and get the code.
Freephone from a UK landline or UK mobile number.

Have you any idea of the size of Paypal's profits this business year?  It's net income was up to $511 million . Are you happy to provide your experience for not one cent?

Yes because I am here for the 'users' of paypal and not paypal itself.

Most companies have 'help forums' and most of those are billion dollar companies.

Also its great when I save someone from being scammed eg this morning I saved someone posting off a laptop to a scammer BEFORE she had received payment as she was taken in by a spoof email.

Would you have preferred I let her be scammed??

Pathetic. Hope you don't need help on here in the future  Smiley Wink

If so then 'try again later'.
