Ebay identical purchase totals BUT different fees charged

Hi

Why is it that I have been charged two different Paypal fees on what looks like identical priced transactions?

I sold two identical priced items on Ebay - one to a Buyer in Switzerland and one to a Buyer in Germany - both transactions were listed and paid for in USD$ with a total Purchase Prices of $9.99, excluding an identical postage of $7.50

On one of the transactions I was charged  $0.89c Paypal fees and the other $1.16 .

I don't understand - can anyone shed any light on this please ??

Thank You

International fees differ dependent on the country you are trading with.

Currency conversion changes on a daily basis.

Aaaahhhh - I see but I don't know that I understand properly though...

I did not realize this as the currency I was dealing with was the same (USD $$) for both buyers irrespective of their country of origin - one from Switzerland and one from Germany.

I assumed that the Buyer/Paypal would automatically convert the funds before they reach my account and pay me in $$$ - any currency conversion being picked up by the Buyer. Then, a flat Paypal fee was charged on the total amount I received  in $$ from them in my account,,

Thank You for your response.
