Where not to send Confirm Codes

I recently made a purchase using my credit card, but an email back from the seller said that the card was rejected as 'invalid'. No reason for the rejection is relayed to the buyer when all the card needed to have done was to be 'confirmed' as valid by paypal. That's not the problem. Paypal sent the confirm code to my mastercard account, but it so happened that it was sent after the credit card statement was printed out/sent out for that month; so I couldn't see it & would not be able to see it till next month's statement is sent out! How's that helpful. My suggestion is to send an email alert telling paypal account holder to check one's paypal account for an important message. After logging in,  the paypal account holder could then see any messages that would contain the code!
