Why won't you back us up?

For many years we have been faithful PayPal users in our business and for our customers.  Just recently an abundance of charge backs with no cause or reason for the reversal of funds has been granted by PayPal.  We provide a service and have for almost 54 years.  The service begins as soon as a deposit is submitted through many different sources.  We provide proof to PayPal where it clearly states once you submit the Acceptance Forms, Contracts, Agreements, etc. for our services and follow it with a deposit it is non-transferrable and/or non-refundable.  Yet even with all the proof in the world PayPal has all of the sudden begun taking from the businesses that provide the business so you make money yet you are going to shut us down by returning all fees when a customer just decides not to like a service.

I see that you don't have a seller protection clause for services so don't accept payments for them either.  As much as I don't want to if you continue to accept charge backs and return funds from our accounts for no reason at all it may be necessary to stop telling customers to pay through PayPal.  There are many different services out there that can be used...this was just easier.  Check our accounts we do over a 1/4 of a million dollars worth of business with you guys almost annually.  If you don't want us just say it....don't cripple us!!!

Why would they back you up? As you have said services are not covered by seller protection.

You can sell them and accept paypal but entirely at your own risk.

The criteria for seller protection is below and you can't meet them with a "service" so if a buyers credit card company (that is how a buyer files a chargeback) decides for their client then of course the client is refunded. However you would not lose out either if you met the criteria for seller protection.

BUT you don't as it does not cover services.

11.5 Items/transactions not eligible for PayPal Seller protection. The following are examples of items/transactions not eligible for PayPal Seller protection.

  • Claims or Chargebacks for Significantly Not as Described.
  • Items that you deliver in person, including in connection with In-Store Checkout.
  • Intangible items, including Digital Goods, and services.
  • PayPal Direct Payments.
  • Virtual Terminal Payments.
  • PayPal Business Payments.

Ironically I received a notice from PayPal stating that beginning July 1 their policy is changing and will provide seller protection so this is an obvious problem and PayPal recognizes it. Too many want something for nothing or don't or won't pay for services rendered. I hope all business owners don't feel like you because I had a solution which was leave PayPal if our guidelines were not met when presented. I'm very aware of the legal contracts I sign thank you! We've been here for almost 54 Years in a successful business. I personally signed up for this service and until now have had no issues. I hope you can say the same! Have a great weekend!

Not sure what you mean by "business owners like you".

Was there anywhere in my thread where i said i agreed or disagreed with their policy?

You asked why they did not back you up and i said why should they when AT THE MOMENT they do not protect you for services.

I can only advise on the policy AT IT IS at the moment.

Sorry i bothered to reply and explain it to you.

If you just wanted sympathy then thats a shame as i responded to tell you how it works and why you were not protected AT THE MOMENT.

Oh and your welcome. Next time i won't bother and you will have o replies.
