please remove the fancy video background, it just SLOWS the log in process significantly.
I am annoyed each time I log on. Does anyone else think this is annoying? We don't need to be impressed by Paypal's coding skills, we just want to access our accounts effieciently! thank you!

I'm one more vote for removing the video background. This is the worst idea anyone has come up with in the history of computing. It destroys my user experience and makes me hate PP every time I log in, which is often since I am an eBay seller. At a bare minimum, the developers should give us an option in settings to keep the video from playing every time. I don't care about the resources used (I'm on a MB Air), rather it's the afront to my intelligence that bothers me. Does PP think we're all sheep, that we're actually going to watch the show and click on something they are pitching to us? I refuse to even look at it. It's even worse than the video that plays on the little screen while you're pumping gas. PLEASE someone at PayPal STOP this !!!

This, yes, please. I just posted my own reasons for disliking the videos; glad to see I'm not the only one.

Dear fellow Video Background Haters.
I first noticed the totally braindead idea of having a distracting video on the main login page back in January 2014. I was in Sweden at that moment, but where I live here in Cyprus they had not implemented it (yet). Thank god I thought, until yesterday, when this mega stupid HTML5 hack came up even here on my PayPal page for Cyprus. It took them 6 months to sneak it in here too.
The video is so distracting that I can't even find the login or signup buttons. And the video itself...man. It is about some trendy barista making espressos and about a gang of fake guitar playing cowboys looking like they are in desperate need of a WC.
My guess is that they paid soo much money for that stupid and over ambitious video that that they just had to implement it.
Just because the technology exist for making such pointless and customer-unfriendly attention it does not mean that they have to do it. I say like I always have said on this topic: PAYPAL, PLEASE KILL YOUR DARLINGS. NOW!!!!
Oh, by the way, if you click two times on the login button, it will take you to an error page without the video and you can login without any annoying distractions.

So annoying and distracting. I don't log in to PayPal to watch a video of people's hands. I can look at my own hands, thank you.

Ditto.
I found the video effect creepy. It was like I just dropped into the middle of someone's home movie.
HATE IT.

I agree. I have the C Cleaner on my PC and if I don't go to PayPal, I'll clean out junk files from 3 to 7MB and that includes a few fun videos. If I go to PayPal and log in and out, I immediately get offline and use the C Cleaner to see what PayPal put on my computer. It averages 50 to 70MB of junk. Does that tell you anything? Hey PayPal, does this explain why no one likes it?

Simply bookmark or go to http://www.paypal.com/login to totally bypass the main video login on homepage.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

I use the PayPal mobile which by-passes the video during login, but after logging off, it reverts back to the video and that uses a lot of cache and memory as mentioned in one of my posts.
Admit it..... no onle likes this PayPal and in fact several people have told me that it is rather disturbing just being able to see a hand or a crotch, etc. Not one person has told me that the various scenes in the videos remind them of "doing business" which was someone at PayPal's original intent. Take it down because the only thought in a person's mind is logging in are working with listed transactions or the reason for the visit.
Just think of the members that haven't bothered to post their disgust over the video. I guarantee you that if it was removed, people wouldn't be upset.

I just noticed that they green "success" bar was pinned on your reply to my post. WTH? Why would anyone think that your reply be a success or a solution. It's NOT a solution, it didn't solve the issue and in fact made me angry. So now I ask, who is the idiot that decided that this was a great idea. I would love to talk to them.
